I don’t think he was talking about the gear set design and more so a dig at Marty for acting like solving the vibration issue was going to be a huge ordeal that only he is capable of solving.

Here you go putting words into other people mouths again and putting your own spin on it.

I never said i was capable of solving but made a suggestion that could be investigated.

In the end spool can do what ever they want its their product.

Band aids are great but they eventually fall off.

Thanks for the update Marty. You’re a life saver. Don’t know where I’d be without you. 👍

Has anyone on this platform ever used a fuel pump dampeners? They make them for both HPFPs and LPFPs. Seems like that would be a place to start as they are designed to absorbs the fuel pulsation of the fuel pumps, reduce noise, and prevent instantaneous pressure drops. Which it sounds like are all the issues people are experiencing.

I have an idea as to the fix just from reading that document. I know where I would start at least assuming I didn't want to install any dampeners.

No one wants to hear it but, frankenturbo did.

Looks like the pic's are gone.

All this shit about brackets and materials, it's not going to fix the problem.

The problem is the gear design. Namely, the facing on the gears.
Using the public as a beta test group is a pretty low move. And everyone standing behind Spool for trying to make good, how dumb are you? You're seriously willing to be a test bunny? Why? They aren't paying you to be one and yet you jerk them off hoping for just a drip?

So what happened with all the S55 buzz?
Oh, those same humpers are behind this now. Just cheerleaders.

If it breaks, you’ll lose vacuum assist for your brakes.

I use gdautomotive bracket for more than a week and all good. I’m sure the bracket solves the issue.

Isnt this something that Spool should be fixing and providing as standard ? I wonder if the billet plate is even needed if you do the damping correctly, looks like its not the problem.

Welcome to fly-by-night quick buck car mods. Wouldn't go by one guy using it "more than a week", that's hardly a proven solution. Given the risk attached to the failure scenario, giving this a hard pass for now. Zero regrets I've procrastinated on the install.

Ok I talk to the owner Gdautomotive that made the bracket. He is pretty cool honest guy, he made one for his 335 that runs 698 whp on e50 and meth. He said the vibration is very bad without the bracket and he made one for himself to fix the issue and it worked. He has it on for 2 months no issues. So I and a guy I know will be ordering the next batch this week. I just want to be safe. With the bracket it holds it pretty tight .Msg him on instagram if you have any questions or need logs. No point to install my x4 without it. Also spool has amazing customer service. I love it.

You cannot honestly be concerned with safety if that’s the level of engineering and testing you call adequate.

Good customer service how? Do you have examples of what they have done to make you feel that way? It's an honest question. I do not own any of their products so i am just looking for actual examples, because based on what i have seen so far, i haven't seen anything good from a customer service standpoint. Offering a fix they think they have, then a fix they think they have they think they have, is not good customer service in my opinion. Maybe you can call it R&D to create a safe and working product. That pump should not be for sale on their website until it has been fixed. I would be pissed if i bought one of those.

I have waited a long time for a HPFP solution. But after seeing how this has turned out, i don't see why i shouldn't go the PI route. I guess i was in love with the idea of a DME controlled fueling solution. But i am thinking PI is better. Less strain on the HPFP and everything connected to it and it is used today by OE car manufacturers. My friends RS3 has DI and PI stock. I would have to tune an AIC, but that is fairly simple. And i can buy a proven product from a few reputable vendors and not worry about something falling off my car when i least expect it.

Our pi tuning solutions are a far cry from the oe solutions. Pi still isn’t a good solution imo, but neither are the di kits yet.

Seems like the VTT single barrel shotgun is still the best move if you want to stay DI only.

The helix is a good cocept once they work out the vibration issue and how-to fix it.

It's up to the individual if they want to risk it as it's a race use only product but just about every manufacturer for this platform has that disclaimer

For now we have other solutions that work and the ones that can't use those will just have to wait on spool to rectify the issues.
