Z4 35i & 335i
I checked my 335i and it seems to have all the options mentioned here. So the DSC module is probably completely different between the Z4 and the 335i hence why I couldn't see anything interesting. I wanted to copy the parameters over from the Z4 since the DSC is much less intrusive on that car but I'll look at trying M3 or 335is parameters on the 335i instead.

I took screens of all the ProTool options. Unfortunately there's no additional description in them, just the wert options.

@carabuser it's interesting how your Z4 uses an xdrive DXC instead of a rwd DSC. Looking at your protool screenshots from the Z4, it pretty much looks the same as my friends' xdrive dxc coding.

That would explain it. Maybe there are different 0pa files for different cars rather than configurable options but same software like the 335i and M3.

DSC89 folder is solely Z4 ZBs, so they seem specific to them. AWD are in DXC890. They both probably use the same DSC_89.c## daten files, which would obviously make the coding options the same as AWD. DSC_89 may still have coefficients, etc., just not defined in the daten. I haven't compared the addresses, but would be interesting to see a nettodat read from the Z4 to compare.

Done my first test now which pretty much involved flooring it in 1st or 2nd gear after it just rained.

Traction control fully on: it would let me spin some tire but progressively cuts power. Blow off valve cutting in and out indicating throttle closure. Does not let me get any angle whatsoever during any type of drift.

DTC: allows me a decent amount of wheelspin, but barely lets the rear end kick out during acceleration. Lets you do some drifts

Maybe just maybe I wasn't aggressive enough but with traction on, the hard torque safety path (ignition and fuel cut) didn't seem to engage. The soft torque safety path (throttle) was indeed working because I was getting throttle closure. Tested with aggressive throttle in 1st and 2nd gear.

Were you able to compare before/after changing the values?

I read in your message that you have a subjective feeling about some things changed but i am not sure to which amount/direction things changed.

I havenĀ“t seen my car for weeks now.. so couldnĀ“t test on my own yet.

I was not able to compare directly but my gut tells me that there is little to no difference that the coding made.

It was snowing today but it wasn't sticking to the ground and turned into water which turned into a perfect test scenario. I did 4 runs in total, but only chose the best two as I got comfortable keeping WOT in dangerous conditions for summer tires.

Both traction on and dtc on utilize throttle and timing cuts, but in the real world, I found that traction on cut the timing harsher and possibly even went negative timing.

It's seriously a shame JB4 doesn't read negative timing values

Digging up old shit here...

did anyone make any progress along the z4 route? My current version of Protools says "Coding not available for this control unit Variante: DXC_90_03"

NCS Expert shows it as DSC_89.c03 as above. not sure the relation there but that doesnt include the discussed params...

still tryng to figure out what truly available on the Z4

this is interesting discoveries and on my xdrive e82 i struggled here too cause of traction control logic
related issue.

my dxc is from us 335xi like half of ecu`s and i`m searching for value what speedrelated open transfer case clutch pack.
this 1000hp/1000nm shit is little dangerous on street in logpulls cause it seems to realace some way transfer case clutc at some 170-180kph what
on my knowledge is inbuilt in BMW logic.

i contacted rbttuning cause i tought it`s in transfer case ecu but they told me that speed limit info is coming from DXC.
i had in past many dynopulls with 650-800 hp ratings and with 4th gear there was on every single one wierd jumps
on some 5400rpm levels.

jump was much worse on a dyno with individual front and rear drum than on a dyno with combined ones.

I WANT THAT 170KPH VALUE TO BE 255KPH if 8 bit value or close to it

so, where to find that limiter...

did some digging with ncs dummy and got a stupid idea of that jump from 4wd to 2wd...
what if... that value max is same than cruise control set_v_max_cc what as value is 155kph
8100rpm is limiter with 4th gear so 5400rpm is in a ballpark of 157kph.

the jerk is in a level of 5400 rpm what is too close to be a just same and that is only speed rpm
related what i found from dsc unit

this was only long throw blindfull but that realace value must be hidden somewhere and
on a ix, why not use same value as cruise control max so on high speed it not just when use of cccon a slippery
road at 155+ kmh car could gone from 4wd to 2wd mode without warn driver of that.

there is a wert 01 what should throw that to 250kph and wert 0 what will set it to 0kph, maybe disable CC?
