I don't know if it has been done, but it defintaley wouldn't be plug and play. The EWG actuator has wires for controlling the stepper motor and wires for position feedback. Not sure the PWG DME has the capabilities for that? If it does, you'd also need to figure out how to configure that in the DME and a retune for the EWG.
Also, you'd need a custom downpipe, as EWG has a bigger turbine outlet flange than the PWG turbo, and the e & f series have different style connections between the downpipe & mid pipes. Also not sure if the compressor outlets are positioned any differently?
What is the goal by using an EWG turbo with a PWG DME?
Ive done it, but the build is a bit fucky and I want to sort it out. Ive used ewg turbo with DP and cooling hose, ewg harness, DME from 2015 car (recently found out its from active hybrid.. mevd172Y), injectors from 2015 car.
Car runs, MHD works and sees it as EWG, BUT oil measurement through CIC is fucked, it never shows level as max, 3/4 at most. Sometimes I get Rich mixture error, but Its erasable. Once flashed with MHD, I get errors about something called Flexray and some other electronics and options, like all around view camera, that my car doesnt possess. Car runs through a shit ton of oil on stage 2+, maybe 1L per 1k km.. Might be related to wrong DME, nothing leaks, valve seals are new, turbo is low mileage, 40k km..
I just want to know if I can somehow run my stock DME on this setup.. This guy claims to have done it but isnt responding
