I would like to start a thread with only posts and discussion about experience of ppl ACTUALLY having xhp dct flashed. In the other threads i feel like its no discussion about ppl actually using it! Please respect this before posting things like "Is it worth to buy it?" "Should i wait for updates before buying?" "Will it make my car faster?"...

Please do not ask to convince you from buying it!
Yes it improves shifting also on Stock turbos you idiot.. (i can´t believe that this is probably one of the most asked questions on Retard FB groups)
"My Tuner said that i already have optimal clutch pressure for my DCT so i don´t need it" - OMFG. REALLY??? IT IS NOT ONLY ABOUT INCREASED CLUTCH PRESSURE!!!! AAHHH

Delete FB! The idiot density is unbelievable.

Ah and "What can you adjust with the software?" - RTFM!
Here the link for you lazy pos: https://www.xhpflashtool.com/fileadmin/user_upload/manuals/xhp_manual_en.pdf

Its just a try from my side to have maybe an informative thread rather than if and when blabla..

So i start.

Car: 2009 EU E92 w/ INA0S + 16T [email protected] Redline
Flash: XHP DCT Stg3
Mileage: 60k Miles
Service to DCT: Not yet but my oil pan is leaking
Clutch: Stock

XHP Settings:
Everything Stock Stg3 except Torque Reduction set to 600.

Experience:
So directly to my issue. From a standstill it feels different than before. If you release the brake pedal the car starts creeping and the take off is fine. But if you hit the throttle for a normal take off it is weird. Its like the clutches hammer together and the car jerks for a tiny moment.
Also during driving i always had the feeling that after shift the rpm stays fixed for a bit before rising again. I am not sure if it is clutch slip. The weird thing is that you see it on the speedometer but actually the sound of the engine does not reflect this. Sounds like before. I need to log.
This is only in completely normal D Mode.

In all modes with the dsc button hit once (or completely off) and sport button activated its a dream to drive. The shifts are now as i think it is in the M Cars.
I think this is where you will really see and definitely feel the improved tune of your gearbox. Also the "issue" with the feeling of a slipping clutch or whatever is going on is not there!
I really have to make logs.
A yeah. Bang after shift or DSG Fart. Meh. Sometimes its there other times not. But when i hear it is kind of cool. I like it. I bet this gives extra 10 whp.
Other than my probably minor issues i love the tune and don´t want to miss it. I hope that this is only the beginning.
This was with Torque Reduction set to 500 and here i also made the most experience with the new tune until now.

I changed Torque Reduction to 600 now but only drove for a few miles since then. But that rev matching between engine and gearbox or slip or whatever it was seems to be gone after that change.

I have actually nothing negative to say except that in D Mode the engine shifts much earlier now and i may have to adjust this with the Shiftmap Editor.

So not a lot of experience here. But its a start :)

A bit of general information i collected:

I was told that one have to find his/hers personal best settings by custom tuning it per car. There are no "This works perfect for everybody" settings per se. XHP told me that everybody should play with Torque Reduction and Torque Punch to find his sweet spot.

So [email protected] recommended that one should leave Torque Punch stock and play with Torque Reduction step by step and see what happens. He said that you will feel when you overshot your sweet spot. I have to verify this but can´t drive at the moment.

Actually this was confirmed to me by a FB PM from XHP but they were saying that Torque Reduction and Torque Punch go hand in hand somehow. But i really don´t want that Torque Punch...

They also told me the highter you set the torque reduction the more fart after shift you will experience. But i am really sure that you should not set the value by the fart character you experience.

Besides the Power running the Flywheel will have a effect on "your personal" sweet spot settings as RPM will drop faster with a lighter flywheel.

I have no interest in LC so never tested.
In manual we have a true manual mode now.

So sorry that i have no real issues here to report.
But i am really curious on ppl with upgraded turbos and their way to the sweet spot settings.

Nice write up. I wasn't sure at 1st. Now it's settled it's definetly running and putting power down even better. I've shredded my tyres tho standard ps4 size on 18s 255. N55 dct running about 380brake 470 torque. And there's a couple of things. Minor I can't get rid of the kick down. But it's awesome. Manual feels alot more like manual for a auto box. Won't change up.or down on its own and it's aggressive but still smooth sometimes i still get the mild jerk but I may need to change from 500 tq reduction. I've been driving mostly M/sports/dsc off. And it's kicking out and just brutal. It's almost like it's so fast on the gear change it's constantly on the boost. This is with stage3.

I have read that some people are being identified as n55 when they are N54. Some aren’t getting the correct ZB built before flashing. It shouldn’t matter though. When I search it gives me a number of options and one is the N54.

One of the most annoying bugs for me is that flashing just a stock file with slider changes is the fact you lose Sport+ mode. I think they've fucked something up or they are flashing us Z4 users with 335i calibrations. In Sport+ mode the car shifts quite hard without xHP but when flashed Sport+ becomes the same as Sport, you need to turn off DSC to get the same kind of shift aggression now.

The facebook group is also full of bugs but the devs don't look interested in. Some cars are having reverse gear problems with the OTS maps, maybe an error when translating maps between ROM revisions.

Whats the equivalent of Sport + in 335i land though .... There isn't one is there ?

No, E9x cars just have a sport button which puts sport mode on or off. The Z4 has a mode selection button that cycles through Normal/Sport/Sport+. I think xHP are unaware of it at the moment. There were some 8AT users complaining about losing Sport+ too so hopefully they will fix it.

They need some proper OCD beta testers. The problem with just getting any random joe to test these trans maps is that they flash the map then spend the evening driving like a cock around some car park then report back that it "pulls like a train mate" and everyone thinks it's good to go.

So far the car feels a little better. I went to the track this past weekend and got my personal best of 11.6 in the 1/4 mile.
Variable lunch works but the problem is having the tracking half on meant throttle cuts for me so it's useless.

Impressive mate ! What was your best before now ? Did you use launch control both times ?

Its not really testing without a test plan, logged results and tableau graph analysis is it ? :tearsofjoy:

Before today it was 12 flat but I had stock turbos then. So the difference is upgraded twins and xHP.
Launch control does not work at the track because you have to have half the traction control on. Every time I tried it something was not right.
Turning off all Traction worked the best.
Next time I might play with the shift points since I should be able to redline every gear. Not sure how the trans will like that though.

I have a Z4 E89 and I'm running the ST3 XHP pack.
It's shifting much faster than before and overall is a much better experience.

Every now and then, in the sport profile it shifts poorly. A small jolt as if the clutch is lifted too quickly. This may be due to a small leak I have on the mechatronics unit. I'm thinking that if it's missing some oil, perhaps the shifts were affected as well. Will service it within the next month and will be able to have a more accurate report by then.

When shifting into reverse it's much faster than before. I assume this may be due to the increase in the clutch pressure.

I second that. I had a private chat about my takeoff issue. He was unfriendly after 10 seconds. It's just like the company is a 1 guy company. It's just too much probably.
Customer Service is crap. I can´t even understand how a tech company is unable to have proper documentation. There is an update nearly every day but no revision history.
You also get the feeling they are no resilient to improve as a company. It's not day 1 for them anymore.

Interesting. I had this one time only also. I thought there might be some adaption going on after flash as it was within the first mile after the flash.

This sounds like DSC intervention

Recommend trying a different DSC Calibration when racing at least

There’s two threads in this forum asking the same exact question and I’ve replied to both of those as well. M3 and 1M DSC callibration can be flashed on a non M car. Suggest if you’re a 3rr go M3 but you’ll need CIC or to do some wiring from your DSC button directly to the DSC to operate it. Otherwise change the “pl” parameter in the CIC and you can do it via a menu

Good write up, but honestly you need to chill out a little and show a little more patience to the ppl that actually don’t fully understand. Especially the tuning element. I didn’t realise if you don’t understand something and ask a question or make a statement, whether it right or wrong, that is deemed stupid or pointless in your eyes, you’re either a retard or an idiot and that your social media should be deleted. That’s dramatic and a “I cannot deal” kind of attitude.
We share the same passion so instead of ranting about how retarded people are that don’t get it, you offer your knowledge to help ppl understand.
I’ll be watching this thread to help me, apart from line pressure which I get all the other offerings I need to do my homework on.

Instead of trying to argue back, let’s move forward and help one and other out, as you will get new ppl to this platform that won’t have a clue about anything.
