Hey everyone,

Pretty much stock with light mods like DCI and ER CP. I have the BMS high and low side catch cans with their external PCV kit although I have some concerns it may not be installed correctly? I emptied it a week ago with very little oil after leaving it in for ~1500kms. I've also been tuned with an OTS stage 1 map from MHD for a couple of years.

Decided to get a custom tune from Ken a couple of weeks ago. Tried to run a WOT log and got a bunch of shuttering and eventually an error code. I took it to the shop and got new coils (Delphi --> Eldor) and new plugs (now running 1 step colder NGKs). Running Shell 91 for what it's worth.

Tried some runs last night with similar problems. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong? I'm concerned as the limited info on the superknocking sounds like very bad news and I hope I didn't fuck my engine up.

Thanks for the help.

The cars misfiring all over the place. Does it run right on just the stock tune?

You always want to start with low boost and timing. Only aim for higher boost and/or timing once everything is happy at the current level.
If things aren't happy. Address those specific issues first.

It ran fine on my old map here: https://datazap.me/u/cz0721/dynapack?log=0&data=3-21

I tried stock a few weeks before all of this and it did not run well. I haven't tried stock with the new coils/plugs but the problems seems so significant I'm surprised it could just be from the tune.

My apologies, maybe I can't read but this description thread is confusing. Here's the crux:

"I tried stock a few weeks before all of this and it did not run well."

Yet your original post starts with,

"Decided to get a custom tune from Ken a couple of weeks ago. Tried to run a WOT log and got a bunch of shuttering and eventually an error code. I took it to the shop and got new coils (Delphi --> Eldor) and new plugs (now running 1 step colder NGKs). Running Shell 91 for what it's worth."

Why did you start this thread about your car with a tune from Ken having issues, when in fact you tried stock a few weeks ago and it did not run well? Doesn't that tell us that your tune has nothing to do with this? And it even had a problem BEFORE plugs and coils according to your post?

I suggest a chronological post as it seems from what you wrote, most of this is irrelevant as you had a problem before you did anything. Please clarify.

Judging by the trims and by the codes injector no 2 or more are starting to play up

Did they gap the plugs properly ?

Did they use dielectric grease on the coils ?

91 is a shit fuel, you need to run 93 or higher for these cars.

It would seem you should try to first discuss with Ken your tuner.

Already have reached out, but he usually takes a couple days. I just want to make sure nothing is severely out of whack and I shouldn't be driving at all.

Plugs were gapped at 0.022", not sure if they used dielectric grease. I have never really had problems with 91 before but I will try 93. E85 not easily available where I am.

Yeah, that's my fault for trying to be brief.

The full chronological order starts a month ago when I wanted to try the new v9 OTS maps. Something about the torque curve must have been different because it was really strong and sensitive up front so I tried flashing back to an older version and couldn't find the old one I was on.

I tried flashing a stock map, drove it a little and the car chugged. I switched back to the v9 which was stable for the most part until reaching out to Ken for a custom tune. I never did any WOT pulls when I was switching between maps so the car seemed fine minus the stock tune, but I didn't think too much about it.

I'm not trying to implicate any tuner or tune as part of my issues, merely trying to diagnose why I'm having these issues and if there is something mechanically wrong, especially after a set of fresh coils and plugs. My injectors were replaced with index 12s maybe a year or so ago.

edit: Just tried reflashing to stock and it's odd. Without M Mode on I get some chugging and a 2D5A code. If I turn M Mode on the chugging seems to go away. Did a short pull and everything seemed find as well. https://datazap.me/u/cz0721/stock?log=0&data=3-21

when you change maps you need to reset the adaptations except throttle.

You need to drive normal for around 5 to 10km and then do around 3 to 4 3rd gear pulls from like 2500rpm to redline to let it adapt

Dumb question but what is it adapting/changing?

I did some more runs tonight with the stock map (M mode on) and the v9 OTS stage 1 maps. I didn't get any shuttering under WOT or any engine codes. Still have the 2D5A with the stock map with M mode off so I will try resetting the adaptations tomorrow.

Are you running catless ?

Dude get a new Ic your intake temp is like 165f costing you lots of power by pulling lots of timing out of your tune and
not very healthy for your car.
