After 6 years of ownership I finally got my car on a Dynojet dyno which are less common in the UK.

Mods:
JB4 + Trebila BEF
E50 fuel only (stock DI)
Stage 1 LPFP
Fully catless with stock exhaust
Inlets and outlets
7.5" race intercooler
Automatic trans with xhp stage 3
Targeting 20psi boost and 13.8 degrees timing.

I've also done some 100-200km/h dragy times in 7.48 seconds
Quickest 1/4 mile in 11.4509 @ 125.61mph and a fastest trap speed of 128.2mph.

My car made 440whp and 595wtq on the dyno yesterday. I was expecting the power to be slightly higher based on my trap speeds. However the torque is higher than expected so thankfully the auto trans seems to be holding on fine.

I forgot what the stock turbo power curve looks like, these things are a beast in stop and go traffic, need slicks just to get to the next stoplight without wheelspin.

Isnt that in the "bending rods" territory ?
600ft lbs at 2500rpm 😬
Edit: nice time and trap !
I forgot to mention the car had 360lbs (165kg) of weight reduction for those times.
Yes I'm quite worried about the torque now, I was expecting maybe 550 ft lbs which I always thought was the safe limit of the auto trans. As for the engine, yes it probably is in that territory.

What does a custom trans tune have to do with mechanical limitations ?
Or has it been proven that the 6AT can take 600wtq for a long period of time on stock internals ?
He says he has no trans issues as of yet so curious as to what would he gain ?
Anyway, a trans tune wont save his rods / motor, So I disagree with get a sutphin file and you will be fine.

What car is it ?
Still some nice times and trap.
Why not have it retuned for less torque ?

It's a 2006 build E92 335i. Thanks, my HPFP is on the limit now so was planning to add extra fuelling to push the stock turbos further but after seeing the torque it might not be a wise move.

Maybe target less boost at tip in and more in midrange ? When you add extra fueling of course.
Can you post a log of the dyno session ?

what are you talking about? he said

so i replied with that

and is accurate, his trans files will help hold big torque numbers. an upgraded cooler with better fluid is always a welcome upgrade however

not talking about the motor, irrelevant to what I said

That’s amazing. Proves that even the crappy stockers can make the car go I’m only FBO with 18 PSI target, can’t imagine 20. But we will wait until new turbo!

When you look at stock turbos next to after market options it's an incredible achievement.
A tiny 10T compressor with a little tiny inlet.

Fastest I've ever gone mph on 19T turbos in the quarter miles is only 1 mph faster. Although the car was misfiring at the end.
I did get a 6.4 100-200 time when lifting off a bit early.

Cal has really put in the effort to achieve this though 👍

Great times mate, nice to see a fellow Scot on the forums.

I made 431whp and 529wtq on stock turbos and 99RON so very similar power levels. I'll also be going for an E50 blend once I upgrade my fuelling.

Out of curiosity where was the Dynojet? My numbers were on a Dynajet in a place in East Kilbride.

A little update on the build. Last year I went to Santa Pod Raceway in England where I smashed my PB by running 11.22@124mph twice. The track there has been prepped with VHT glue and so offers much better grip levels. The new Hoosier 28x10x17 slicks enabled me to get a 1.62 60ft. Overall the car is still running great and happy to be low 11s on stock turbos.

Fitted this 26 lbs lightweight battery which fits and works perfectly. It’s 28 lbs less than the stock 90Ah battery. At only £37 it’s one of the cheapest mods I’ve done. Yes, there are lighter batteries out there but this has the balance of price, weight and performance.

Ran this time on an unprepared surface. The stock turbos are still pulling hard at 23psi and E50. I’ve got some Apex Arc 8R wheels going on soon.
