That photo shows it correct. A spark means a blown fuse somewhere.

ETA: HA!! Internet troubleshooting win :)

Hey look! The indicator lights up! :tearsofjoy:

@dyezak You were correct; wiring was good but a fuse was screwing us!

Now to code the VO and attempt to get drivelogic working!

Unfortunately, I have another problem. This time with VO; NCSExpert cannot FA_WRITE the changes to CAS.

Code:
---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Error in CABD! Look at CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG!

COAPI-2062: Error on reading coding data : ERROR_HO_WORT
COAPI-2062: Error on reading coding data FA_WRITE
COAPI-2062: Error on reading coding data FA_WRITE: A_E65CAS

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

The contents of ERROR.LOG:

Code:
[15:18:48.942] [2018-03-10] [SERIE] 2062 PABD/CABD A_E65CAS.IPS FAwrite 53
[15:18:48.942] [2018-03-10] [SERIE] Error on reading coding data : ERROR_HO_WORT

[15:18:49.048] [2018-03-10] [SERIE] 2062 Error COAPI2.CPP coapiRunCabd 6
[15:18:49.048] [2018-03-10] [SERIE] Error on reading coding data FA_WRITE

[15:18:49.049] [2018-03-10] [SERIE] 2062 Error COAPI4.CPP coapiWriteAuftrag 6
[15:18:49.049] [2018-03-10] [SERIE] Error on reading coding data FA_WRITE: A_E65CAS

When I set +2MK, I do NOT see +2TC for my VO (and thus, cannot remove +2TC). Is this normal?

[EDIT]: It looks like the guide is slightly incorrect; the values to look for: REMOVE $2TC and ADD $2MK. NCS Expert seems to like that just fine?

Yes, I meant to mention that to @aus335iguy. The VO codes need to be corrected to removing $2TC and adding $2MK and $2MD. The $ is the correct symbol for SA codes.

Yes, you have to remove first then add. I can update the original post where that is referenced if you link it for me.

Ah, OK. That makes sense.

https://bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads/cic-mdrive-menu-coding.2761/ is where I found most of my coding directions. I think it would also be helpful to mention that hitting the DELETE key is how you remove from the list (such as removing $2TC) @aus335iguy

I am still having issues getting rid of the "!" displayed in cluster. The cluster is showing the 'small' P,D,M1-7 display and is not showing drivelogic even with $2MK set in VO (but not +2MD).

I reset KOMBI, DSC, NRFM, and 2JBBF. I made sure DZM_DISP_RPM set to wert_01 and C0F_GETRIEBE wset to wert_2.

I do NOT have CIC. Is this a requirement for drivelogic display? @LMB335is @dyezak ?

That coding thread is @aus335iguy; he will fix that I'm sure.

As for your KOMBI if you read in my original thread I had that issue too and I had to manually code my KOMBI values to work. The values are in there for you.

And CIC not required, it just saves you some work. Fix your KOMBI and you'll be up to the point I'm at.

Right now I'm digging into the DSC...it appears to be drastically different between the M3 and 335is. We might either need to flash the DSC module or use an M3 one to fix the shift bog after final coding.

Yeah, I've been religiously reading your threads and the others relating to coding! hahaha

https://bmw.spoolstreet.com/threads/my-dct-conversion-to-m3-gws-flash.2929/page-2#post-33687 I found this post that highlights NCS Dummy but is just screenshotting the entire program.

Code:
Need to manualy code the Kombi and it will show up in the cluster.

I will try and find the setting

I am confused what setting? Is this using dummy WITHOUT the file from "Read ECU" in NCS Expert?

I do NOT have DKG_CIC due to no CIC...

Ah ok. Trying to get KOMBI going and fix the big "!" on startup. Not sure why it isn't happy. Waiting for 5 minute 'sleep' and see how the car feels.

The DSC is drastically different? Can we flash the DSC?

I don't want to flash my DSC if I can just grab an M3 one. And I'll just go grab an M3 DCS on Monday...soooooooo

Sorry guys I’m on a phone at the moment but I’ll fix the guide when I’m at a computer. The DSC modules are different between M3 and 335 and that was to be the next step- to see if flashing the 335DSC with m3 ZB was possible. Need to get my hands an a spare module first.

They are. You can find them on eBay fairly cheap with various part #'s. The module is detachable from the ABS unit if you want to keep yours. You just have to do a full brake bleed afterwards which is a PITA but pretty straightforward.

No problem. I appreciate the accumulation of information!

I think it would be great to include information about 'blank MAN loading'. It turned out to be relatively straightforward but nerve racking (turns out to be all in NCS Expert, changing target 'coding' different modules).

I'll try to determine the KOMBI changes needed for DriveLogic; there is a TODO in the document. I am currently fighting the KOMBI. :(

Hmm, so the DSC might help with communication to the GWS for the M3 algorithms? I am not familiar with the differences between the units.

I got the KOMBI issues sorted out. I reset the VO to CAS and NFRAM then I reset every module using NCS Expert (KOMBI, DSC, 2JBBF, NFRM).

KOMBI was still displaying 'small gear indicator' and had 0 RPM in D. Fixed this by reading ECU, opening in NCS Dummy. I searched for all phrases including "Gear Indicator" (SPA) and enabled them all. I also enabled the MOTORSPORT to wert_01 (BMW M). I also fixed DZM_DISP_RPM to wert_02. At this point, the KOMBI shows 'large indicator' and doesn't drop to 0 (with malfunction) in D!

I just have a DSC error to fix, I accidentally disabled the 'start assist'. CC-ID 354

If you have a look Lmb335is has already dropped the m3 trc files here.
You could compare your values with those...

I fixed my DSC error CC-ID 354 (start assist). I ended up disabling start assist completely via:

Code:
C0F_AFH_HSA
wert_00

C0F_HSA
wert_00
wert_10

Car is fully functional now! :smilingimp:

Awesome Derek! Glad its up and working.
If i send you a word version of the coding doc would you be able to take the time to add the relevant changes ?
